‘What’s your Linkme?’ Meet the Miami-based networking tool making it easier to share our info

By Riley Kaminer
Your “link in bio” will never be the same – all thanks to three enterprising Miami entrepreneurs. Net Kohen, Val Share and Dre Medici are the founders of Linkme, a platform that enables users to share their contact information, images, and videos, with others.
One way to think of Linkme is as a next-generation business card. Instead of swapping paper, users can share a QR code that pops up a digital profile chock-full of links, pictures, contact details, and more. And unlike a physical business card, Linkme enables users to pick and choose the exact content that they want to show to each particular person.
A major use case for Linkme, which has an app but is also accessible on the web, is sharing info on social media platforms such as links on Instagram. Already, Linkme can be seen on the Instagram pages of influencers like Adam Weitsman, Patrick Bet-David, and Brad Lea.
The platform is also useful for people who have a major following on one social media platform, enabling them to easily share their other profiles through Linkme. Users can also create “shouts” on Linkme, or short tweet-like posts that are hosted on Linkme profiles.
The Linkme team reports that five million people used Linkme last year alone. About 800,000 of those users registered to use it. There are around 50 people who work on Linkme in a mix of full-time and part-time capacities.
CEO Kohen and COO Share were neighbors growing up together in Aventura. Before launching Linkme, they built an event app. Through this work, they were constantly meeting lots of people – and losing track of all these contacts. “Sharing info was always a hassle,” Share told Refresh Miami. “With Linkme, networking got an upgrade.”
The duo started working on Linkme four years ago. Later, they onboarded marketing expert Medici to help the company bring on more users. The pandemic, and an increased interest in making contactless connections, also fueled Linkme’s growth, Share said.
So far, Linkme has raised $3 million from angel investors across three rounds. It is also running a crowdfunding campaign.
“In the next few years, we hope that people say ‘hey, give me your Linkme’ rather than ‘give me your number,’” Share said of Linkme’s broader ambitions. How will they get there? On top of continuing to serve influential digital creators, Linkme is working through an aggressive pipeline of new products.
For example, Linkme plans to develop an AI tool called Adam and Eve to give its users a built-in customer service chatbot. Linkme is also working on providing users with deeper analytics features, as well as integrating in-app advertising to drive profit for the platform.
Share hopes that the best for Linkme is yet to come. “We’re super excited about Linkme’s growth. And with the changing landscape of networking and of sharing information, we expect that this growth will continue.”
